Mourinho sacking would cost Man Utd £24m.
Manchester United will have to pay Jose Mourinho a staggering £24m if they decide to fire the manager.
Mourinho has recently been under increasing criticism this week following 3-1 liverpool defeat.
The defeat has so far left United in sixth in the table although they are 11 points off the top four – and just four points above Leicester in 12th.
There are no immediate plans to sack the Portuguese but the United board may have to decide if the poor performances persists.
The Daily Record reports United face a compensation package of £18m if they decide to make Mourinho sacking move.
United will take on PSG in the last 16 of the Champions League and are seemingly the most unfit for the matches on February 2 and March 6.
The Old Trafford board waited until they were out of the top four picture before axing David Moyes while a similar decision was taken with Louis van Gaal.
And they face a huge bill if they do decide to axe Mourinho, who only agreed a new contract with United 11 months ago.
