Manchester United have confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the club’s former striker, will take charge as United caretaker manager for the rest of the season.
Having overseen a disastrous start to the season and Mourinho’s exit the club has taken the decision to appoint a temporary manager before bringing in a long-term manager in the summer.
United have now confirmed the Norwegian will take up the position with immediate effect ahead of this weekend’s game against Cardiff City – the club he previously managed.
