Alfredo Morelos speakes on his Rangers January exit

RANGERS Star, Alfredo Morelos believes he will be a January transfer target for clubs – even though Steven Gerrard has made it clear he is not for sale.

The Colombian international has netted 20 goals this season and has been one of the Light Blues’ top performers.

Rangers knocked back a £7million offer from Chinese club Beijing Renhe last January and since then their top scorer has been rewarded with a new deal.

Boss Gerrard has already insisted Morelos won’t be sold in next month’s transfer window, but the striker himself has revealed he believes there will still be offers.

“I have to wait until the last game of the year is played and I will try to end 2018 in a positive way.”

It’s understood there is major interest from Turkey, France and Italy.

The 22-year-old has made it clear his dream is to play in the English Premier League, and although clubs are watching him nobody is ready to take the plunge.

Alfredo Morelos was unhappy when his move to China was blocked earlier this year but now his main goal is trying to get a crack at England’s top tier.

He added: “My dream is to play in the English Premier League. It’s very similar to the football in Scotland.”

The former HJK Helsinki player knows he needs to remain in the Colombian international set-up if he wants to get the work permit he would require to play in England.

“The national team is very important to me, it’s in my mind all the time,” said Morelos.

“I know that if I continue scoring goals with Rangers, a new opportunity will come. I am aware that if I do things right, the call will come.
