Ex-Premier League star Shola Ameobi has estimated that Marcus Rashford will be worth £200million.
Rashford on Wednesday scored his seventh goal of the season to ensure United wins Ameobi’s old club Newcastle 2-0.
shola Ameobi told Sky Sports: “You look at this technique, the goalkeeper is going to be very disappointed with that, but it is a very hard strike to keep a hold of.
“I think the more games you play, you mentioned he’s played nearly 150 games now, I think having a manager who’s been a striker, who’s been in those positions can speak to you in a way I guess maybe others haven’t been able to.
“I think for certainly for the strikers this is a massive deal for Rashford.
“We see the talent he’s got but if he can add that last little bit, he’s going to be worth £200m in a couple of years.”
Caretaker-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Rashford after his strike and said: “He gets kicked, he gets tackled. He goes for headers and challenges.
“He makes runs. He is going to be a top, top no.9 – definitely.
“We’ve got Romelu Lukaku so sometimes he will play on the right, sometimes on the left and sometimes through the middle. He will get enough games.”
The Sun claimed in November that Real Madrid wanted to sign Rashford.
The striker was said to have been unhappy with being given a lack of game-time by boss Jose Mourinho and he was open to leaving.
Real Madrid was an option with a possible summer deal on the cards to give Rashford a fresh start.
But The Sun are now reporting that Rashford has changed his mind following Mourinho’s sacking and the arrival of Ole Gunner Solksjaer, who has transformed the mood around Old Trafford
