Rangers may need on-loan midfielder Greg Docherty back this month after Gary McAllister watched him play for Shrewsbury last Saturday.
Assistant manager, McAllister was caught at Shrewsbury’s League One clash with Charlton last weekend showing the midfielder is still part of Steven Gerrard’s plans at Ibrox.
Greg Docherty was allowed to leave on a season-long deal last summer as Gerrard decided that he wouldn’t be playing regularly for him, but the 22-year-old has shown fantastic form in Shropshire with seven goals and seven assists in 29 appearances.
Although he wouldn’t have been happy with his performance before McAllister in his side’s 3-0 home defeat, rumours have it that Rotherham United want him.
The Millers are currently in a Championship relegation scrap, that may persuade Rangers to recall him before loaning him to them for the second half of the campaign.
