Former Arsenal winger, Marc Overmars has been mentioned as one of the persons to take over as new technical director, according to reports in the Netherlands.
The Voetbal International has said 45-year-old Ajax director of football is a leading candidate for the job
Marc Overmars spent three years in Arsenal as a key man in the double-winning campaign of 1997-98, scoring a significant goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Arsenal have apparently put Overmars’ name on a shortlist of candidates as current boss Unai Emery seems unable to form a working relationship with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who is about to leave the club.
The ex-Ajax winger, who has been acting as director of player affairs at the Dutch club since the summer of 2012, still has a commitment to remain in Amsterdam until 2020.
