Former Manchester United midfielder,Paul Scholes has been appointed new manager of League Two side, Oldham Athletic on a 18-month contract.
Scholes has on appointment been told to begin work at Boundary Park on Monday with the club unveiling him at an official press conference on Monday afternoon.
The former Salford City director resigned from his role to take a new managerial role while former Oldham coach Mick Priest will serve as his assistant.
Speaking about the appointment, Oldham owner, Abdallah Lemsagam expressed optimism the 44-year old man will will bring more experience to improve the club.

“He is a man who will bring a lot of footballing knowledge and his hunger to succeed in management will be there for everyone to see.
“It’s no secret how much he has wanted this job in the past and how much he loves this club, so I’m very happy to bring him into our family at Oldham Athletic.
“Paul will have my backing 100 per cent and hopefully we can work together to bring success back to this club”. Abdallah Lemsagam added.
