Former United youth coach Eric Harrison dies at 81

Manchester United former youth coach, Eric Harrison has been confirmed death.

Report has it that the former youth boss was diagnosed of dementia four years ago.

In his early career,Eric Harrison helped realized careers of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Gary and Phil Neville.

He got his appointment as United Youth coach in 1981 by the then United manager Ron Atkinson which he mentored a number of other high-profile youngsters including Mark Hughes, Norman Whiteside, Wes Brown, David Platt and Darren Fletcher.

The former United youth boss has recorded many successes including Class of 92 players forming the backbone of United’s treble-winning side of 1999 Sir Alex Ferguson came on board.

Eric Harrison bagged an MBE award for services to football just a year ago before his demise.
