Ashley Cole,38 has scored his first FA Cup goal for Derby as Brighton knocks Derby out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win to secure fifth round victory.

The left-back and seven-time winner of the competition, linked up with his former Chelsea team-mate and now Rams manager Frank Lampard last month and got on the score-sheet in his second appearance for his new club.

Subbed in second-half, Cole headed home in the 81st minute to score for the first time in his homeland since September 2012.

However, his goal was in vain when Anthony Knockaert’s opener after 33 minutes and Jurgen Locadia’s goal in added time in half-time secured Brighton’s place in the quarter-finals.
