Paul Merson, former Arsenal and sport analyst has advised Chelsea not to replace Maurizio Sarri with the Frank Lampard.
Maurizio Sarri has been under intense pressure and his job on a sack threat at Stamford Bridge following the club’s recent poor performances.
But speaking to sky sports on the situation, Paul Merson believes it is too early for Chelsea to sack Sarri and appoint Lampard as new manager.
“Not yet. It’s a big job.
“They’re not Norwich, they’re not 10 points clear at the top. It’s early.
“I think he’s doing great, don’t get me wrong. But there’s a long way to go.
“You’re talking one of the top four, five clubs in England. One of the top 20 in the world of football. It’s a bit early for me.”
