Confirming the deal, the club in a statement released on Tuesday said that the moves were officially made permanent at the start of February.

Napoli have paid about 25m euros in total for both shot-stoppers, who will hope to shine in Naples.

The duo, Meret and Karnezis will now face a battle with another keeper who has been on loan at Napoli this season, Arsenal’s David Ospina, for regular first-team game experience for the remaining months of the season.
