Barcelona star, Luis Suarez on Wednesday Night scored twice as the club eliminated Real Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final with a 3-0 win to secure a place in the Copa del Rey finals.
Barca headed into the game after they had a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Nou Camp to map up a 4-1 aggregate to emerge winners.
Goals from Luis Suarez in the second half and Raphael Varane’s own goal left Real a mountain to climb, the Uruguay striker converted a penalty, Panenka-style, to silence the Bernabeu.
The host had cleaned their 5-1 LaLiga defeat to Barca in September when they won the first leg earlier this month, but the visitors refreshed with a sixth successive final reach.
Earlier on, Vinicius Junior’s had tumbled in the penalty area expecting penalty reward, but Nelson Semedo’s challenge was referred back to VAR by match official Sanchez Martinez, who had initially appeared unmoved, but play continued.
Barca then stunned the Bernabeu by snatching the lead in the 50th minute before Suarez appeared well covered by Sergio Ramos with Ousmane Dembele’s cut back from the left reached him inside the area, but he shimmied to create space and side-footed home an emphatic finish.
They finally sealed their place in the final when Suarez was fouled by Casemiro on the left edge of the box and then dinked home his spot-kick straight down the middle.
