Barcelona boss, Quique Setien, has sent apology to the players and everyone at the club, for the behaviour of his assistant, Eder Sarabia, on the touchline during their 2-0 defeat at Real Madrid.
Images of Sarabia’s reactions from the dugout went viral after the El Clasico game on Sunday.
Spanish television show, Vamos, used a lip reader to reveal some of the demeaning remarks he made about Barca players.
Sarabia was caught on camera criticising Antoine Griezmann for missing a chance and repeatedly used foul language throughout the match.
The footage was not well received by Barca’s squad, forcing Setien to offer an apology.
“We apologised to everyone, we cannot behave like that,” Setien told newspaper El Periodico on Thursday.
“We don’t like to see things like this, we have committed an error and we should try to avoid something like this happening again.
“This situation has affected me a lot, because I am concerned about the image of the club. We need to take care of that image, because we can be criticised for substitutions, tactics, etc, but not for our behaviour.”
