Ronaldinho faced court in Paraguay on Saturday for allegedly using a fake passport to enter the South American country, Sky Sports reports.
SPORTYWAP recalls that, last Wednesday night, Paraguay police detained the Brazilian star along with his brother Roberto for suspected falsification of documents.
On Saturday Ronaldinho and Roberto were taken to a Paraguay courthouse in handcuffs.
Prosecutors are trying to prolong the imprisonment of the Midfielder and his brother.
At the same time, Sergio Queiroz, a defense lawyer, says both Ronaldinho and Roberto should be unfettered as they are not a threat or danger to flight.
Ronaldinho and his brother said the documents were given as a present by Wilmondes Sousa Liria, a Brazilian businessman who has been imprisoned, and their reasons for traveling to Paraguay were for business.
The 39-year-old is currently without a Brazilian passport because of an environmental fine he received in 2018.
