President Buhari makes new appointments

On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari named 38 persons to the Federal Commission of Character (FCC) board.

The appointment was contained in a letter awaiting the Senate approval.

The letter was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, on the floor of the upper chamber of the National Assembly on Tuesday.

“In compliance with the provision of section 154 (1) of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, I write to request for confirmation by the senate for 38 nominees as chairman and members of the Federal Character Commission,” the letter read.

Earlier recall that the Senate on February 25 had urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reconstitute boards of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) with immediate effect.
