Man City set to win the Battle of the Champions League against Real Madrid

Manchester City is expected to win their battle next month at the Etihad Stadium to host Real Madrid in the Champions League, the UK Mirror says.

There are four Champions League last-16 ties to be completed, including Manchester City against Real Madrid.

Instead of the COVID-19 outbreak, UEFA originally required all remaining games to be held in Lisbon , Portugal, where the competition would be concluded after the last 16 on a single-game knockout basis.

City have lobbied hard to preserve their home advantage, even though the game will be played behind closed doors.

Real wants it to go ahead in Portugal, citing travel and health concerns.

UEFA’s quarantine rules have now been soft-pedaled and relaxed, ensuring City will definitely be allowed to host the second leg, with the game scheduled for August 7.
