The head coach of Atl. Madrid, Diego Simeone, has replied to Chelsea’s interest in goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Los Rojiblancos.
DAILY POST announced that, this summer, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard made Jan Oblak his No.1 target.
Lampard is not happy with the new first-choice Blues, Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has struggled with this word and is now searching for alternatives.
Reacting to the growth, Simeone said he was not shocked, adding that the world’s best clubs still come every year for its players.
Asked at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday about the hype ahead of Atletico Madrid ‘s clash with Getafe, Simeone said as quoted by Metro UK: “It doesn’t surprise me, our most important players are coveted by the best in the world every year.
“To always look for the best is natural-and we have many. Some left and others remained.
“It is reasonable and natural for everybody to want an Oblak.
“He is our captain, and a key player. I hope we can count on his work, which for Atleti is enormous.’
Oblak, 27, has a £120 m purchase-out clause in his deal that expires in 2023.
