A former senator of Kaduna Central District, Shehu Sani has responded to the Federal Government ‘s increased train fare for the Abuja to Kaduna line.

Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi announced a 100% increment in train fare for the Abuja to Kaduna service.

Amaechi, on Saturday, told reporters that the fare will double due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also said the reason behind the change was that the coach had previously transported 88 passengers but the coach would hold only 40 passengers when they resume service.

Sani, however, said on Monday in a tweet from his Twitter account that such progress was unreasonable, unreasonable and insensitive given that people are still suffering from the recent coronavirus pandemic.

He also advised the transportation Minister to make things easier for the people, adding that tables might turn any day.
