Series A side Inter Milan is interested in making permanent stay of Alexis Sanchez at San Siro, reports BBBC Sport.
The 31-year-old Chilean striker has spent the last season on loan from Manchester United at the Italian club and scored his third goal in eight games during the 3-0 victory in Genoa on Saturday.
Sanchez was involved again on Tuesday night as Inter maintained their push to finish second in Serie A with a 2-0 win over Napoli.
It is understood that the player’s wages at United, thought to be around £400,000 a week, are scaring Inter but boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want to keep the former Barcelona forward for next season.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona star is under contract at Old Trafford until 2022.
Any deal would almost certainly require some kind of pay off from United and a willingness by Sanchez to take a wage cut.
