With a few hours to Eid-el-Kabir, on Friday the two prayers for rakat will be broadcast live online in the Ilorin Emirate.
Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, said the prayers will be transmitted live from Ilorin ‘s Chief Imam ‘s residence for worshippers to attend from their homes.
The monarch said the decision, “is in compliance with the safety protocols against the spread of COVID-19 infectious disease ravaging the country.”
Urging residents to strictly abide by the order, the Emir, commanded worshippers to pray fervently for the nation and extend charity during and after the Sallah festival to the less privileged and loved ones. information
A statement by the spokesman of the Emir, Abdul Azeez Arowona in Ilorin, on Thursday appealed to Muslims to celebrate the festival peacefully in line with the dictates of Allah and his prophets.
He further urged Muslims to always exhibit principles of patience, tolerance and perseverance in all their dealings.
Recalls that the state government had banned congregational prayers and celebration of the festival in public places, as part of the stringent measures to mitigate the community spread of the deadly coronavirus infectious disease in the state.
Nevertheless, it permitted Friday prayers to be held in mosques, but the state technical committee COVID-19 adhered to the spelt out safety guidelines with the worshippers.
