
On Tuesday, River’s state Governor, Nyesom Wike noted that he is not surprised by the recent revelations about the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) activities.
Wike claimed in his statement that the commission had deviated from its original mission and had become a cash cow for some crooked politicians. questions
“I have said before and it is very clear; my concern is everybody knows that NDDC was set up for the development of the region.”
He further stated that in 2019, the NDDC released the sum of N10 billion to halt his reelection as Rivers State governor.
he said: “Unfortunately, they have turned it to a different thing; NDDC is a cash cow for politicians. In my own election, NDDC brought N10 billion cash to fight against me,”
Wike stated this while reacting to the commission’s alleged fraudulent activities that has attracted Nigerians’ attention.
Both the Senate and House of Representatives are investigating the Agency’s billions of Naira fraud.
The NDDC’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) allegedly committed the scam between February and May 2020.
