The US. government has warned its citizens about security issues from traveling to certain states in Nigeria.

In its latest travel advisory to its citizens, the American government warned that the alert is responsible for the rising cases of bandit attacks, kidnapping and general insecurity in the identified states. questions

It added that due to the global coronavirus pandemic, its citizens should also reconsider traveling to Nigeria at this time.

The warning is contained in an August 6 travel advisory published on the website of its Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs.

The U.S. government warned that provision of emergency service to Nigeria is limited due to security conditions.

According to the Statement:

“Reconsider travel to Nigeria due to COVID-19. Reconsider travel to Nigeria due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, and maritime crime. Some areas have increased risk.

“Do Not Travel to: Borno and Yobe States and Northern Adamawa State due to terrorism. Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, and Yobe states due to kidnapping.”

“Coastal areas of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Delta, and Rivers states (with the exception of Port Harcourt) due to crime, civil unrest, kidnapping, and maritime crime.”

“Exercise extreme caution throughout the country due to the threat of indiscriminate violence.”
