In the 2019 general election under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Obadiah Mailafia, a Nigerian growth economist and presidential candidate, said that Nigeria will never come back to shape until the Northerners bow down to ask the Ndigbos forgiveness.
The Northerners will have to ask the Ndigbos for forgiveness for awful and evil actions against them, according to Mailafia in a live interview with Morning Crossfire on Monday, August 10,.
The one-time Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria during the morning programme titled ‘Let’s Talk Southern Kaduna Crisis’, recalls how his father who was a missionary pastor during his time protected the Igbo families. He noted further that what happened in the 1960s can not be equated with what is happening now in the nation.
Mailafia identified as a nemesis the incessant killings and crises which rock the area.
“My father was a missionary pastor, I remember as a child he did so much to protect Igbo families … And I’ve always said it, Nigeria will never be normal until we kneel down and ask for forgiveness from Ndigbo for the wicked sins we committed against them” – Obadiah Mailafia. pic.twitter.com/47diWRrkBQ
