Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, Unilorin VC, has cleared the air on reports that the institution has declared the date of resumption.
According to Abdulakareem, the institution has yet to set any date for the resumption of academic activities for UNILORIN students during a conversation with reporters in the Kwara state capital on Monday 17 August.
The VC said this became relevant as the Federal government has yet to announce a date for the country’s institutions to allow students to resume classes.
“UNILORIN would remain closed to students pending the directives of constituted authorities,” said Abdulkareem. questions
He added, “The university is fully prepared to welcome its students back to campus for the completion of the rest of the 2019/2020 academic session and subsequent new session,”
He disclosed further that the institution has made every arrangement “to ensure that the campus is made safe and conducive for members of the university community.”
Abdulkareem added that arrangements were also ongoing in the UNILORIN to ensure that the processes of ‘admission of new students begin as stated by concerned authorities.’
The UNILORIN VC expressed delight that the institution remains the largest number of intending students to choose from.
He described UNILORIN “as a training ground, not only in the academic field but also in leadership,” adding that he was not surprised about the appointment of some members of staff serving as Vice Chancellors of some sister universities among positions.

In the meantime, the Federal Government has identified items that must be done to reopen colleges in the midst of resolve to close all schools in the country.
