Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church and Vatican City State monarch, issued a stern warning against prioritizing the rich for the COVID-19 vaccine.
During his weekly meeting with a public audience, DPA said, the revered clergy reported this on Wednesday, August 19.
Charity programs, he says, have not been enough to help the less fortunate. He encouraged those in authority to pursue a fairer model of economic growth that would tackle the root causes of inequality.
“The pandemic is a crisis. You don’t come out of it the same – either better or worse. We must come out better,” he said.
Pope admonished the world not to return to social injustice and natural environment degradation, adding that the dreaded disease COVID-19 should serve as an opportunity to build a better society. question
“We are all worried for the social consequences of the pandemic, all of us. Many want to go back to normal and resume economic activities”, the Pope noted.
