More than two hundred members of the All Progressives Congress were received by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kuje Area Council, FCT on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the party in Kuje Area Council, Mohammed Ismaila, received the decampees at the Kuje Area Council Government House.
The decampees handed out their APC membership cards, brooms, and posters to replace the PDP’s.
In an interview with Nigeria News Agency (NAN), Mohammed Gambo, the chief of the decampees, said they were disappointed with the approach of APC policies.
Gambo further claimed that they had joined the opposition party to help establish the Kuje Area Council.
“We are decamping to PDP for the development of Kuje Area Council and Nigeria as a whole.” questions
“Our stay in APC has not been encouraging. APC policies and approach have not encouraged democracy and governance in the area council,” he said.
While collecting the decampees, the PDP Chairman of the Kuje Area Council said more would still be coming to the party for its growth and that of the Kuje Area Council.
Ismaila said PDP will clinch the chairpersonal role for the good of the region and country in the Kuje Area Council.
