Niger Delta Affairs Minister Godswill Akpabio noted on Wednesday that he has not been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to question the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) probe.
This was stated by the former Lawmaker in a statement released in Abuja Wednesday through his Media Aide, Mr. Anietie Ekong.
In the article, Ekong stated that the commission has not forwarded a letter of invitation to its principal about the commission’s financial dealings. questions
Ekong said: “My boss is yet to be invited. I don’t think the EFCC letter expressly stated that the minister is being investigated. It didn’t state that.”
Earlier, SportyWap News reported that the anti-graft agency had launched an investigation into the alleged involvement of the Minister and the NDDC’s Acting Managing Director, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, in the financial mismanagement of the commission’s N81.5 billion fund.
A group, Foundation for True Freedom and Good Governance, led by Deji Adeyanju, had written a petition to EFCC to investigate how N81.8 billion was spent by the commission.
