NAPTIP in Kano, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, is reportedly investigating the Village Head of Sabon Gari, a state-run village in the Fagge Local Government Area over suspected child trafficking.
It was reported that Yau Mohammed had collaborated with commander of Fagge Hisbah, Jamilu Yusuf, to sell N20,000 for a young child.
SportyWap News however heard that Mr Yau was suspended because NAPTIP is still conducting its investigations.
Mr. Umar said that the council agreed to suspend Mr. Ya’u pending the results of the National Agency for the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) investigation.
The suspension of the village head was reported by Muhammad Umar, the secretary to the Galadiman Kano Abbas Sunusi in a statement on Tuesday, August 25.
According to Umar, “the council decided to suspend Mr. Ya’u pending the outcome of an investigation by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).”
