2019 AFCON: Nigeria emerges victorious with 3-1 win over Seychelles



2019 AFCON qualifiers: Super Eagles of Nigeria has emerged victorious after defeating Seychelles 3-1, in their final game of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Gernot Rohr’s men had earlier drew against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in November to qualify for the competition before playing host to Seychelles on Friday at Asaba, Delta State.

Odion Ighalo opened scoring from the penalty spot before Rody Melanie scored ending half-time with 1-1 draw.

However, Henry Onyekuru sent Nigeria back in the lead just after the break, converting Jamiliu Collins’ cross before Moses Simon climbed off the bench to make it three.

Nigeria will on Tuesday next week host Egypt in an international friendly, at the same venue.
