Orji Uzor Kalu the Senate Chief Whip, said he can bring back to Nigeria the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and persuade him to drop the agitation for Biafra.
The former governor of Abia state stated that all he needs is President Buhari’s permission to carry out the task.
In a statement released Tuesday in Abuja, the lawmaker said the IPOB leader will listen to him.
He stated this in response to the recent altercation in Enugu state between IPOB members and security personnel.
Kalu added that he is a believer in one Nigeria, and believes that people of the country are so entangled with each other that no one should be talking about separation.
He added that what the country needs is to focus on taking advantage of the country’s population to build a stronger economy.
“If the Federal Government permits me, I will go to the United Kingdom and negotiate with Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria.”
“I will convince him to drop the agitation for Biafra because our people don’t need it,” Kalu added.
He concluded that what Nigerians need now is different tongues and cultures coming together as one united Nigeria.
