Former Danish International and ex-Ajax play-maker, Jesper Olsen has said Matthijs de Ligt’s switch to Manchester United or any other top club in Europe will be interesting.
Matthijs de Ligt is currently on talks heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford after impressing in recent months in the Eredivisie.
After making 70 league appearances since making his debut in 2016 De Ligt is wanted by a number of European giants at just 19 and he is expected to move on this summer .
Having moved from Ajax to spend four seasons at Old Trafford, Olsen has backed the youngster to make a move to another club this summer;
”No doubt about it [he could play for United],’ Olsen told Omnisport.
”Playing at Ajax, you have to be a quality player.
”So, of course he could [play for United], no doubt about it.
”He could fit into any top team at the moment.
”I think nowadays the top clubs are very much of the same belief in how you play, they like to be in control of the game.
”So as long as he goes to one of those clubs, I think a player of his calibre would fit in in most teams, he said.
