Why United lost at home to Barca – Ole Gunnar.
Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar has revealed reason why his side lost 1-0 to Barcelona in their Champions League quarter-finals first leg tie on Wednesday night.
United held Barca to no breathing space but were out of luck to find the net after, Luiz Suarez headed down a cross from Messi.
A tie that was more like final almost ended goalless if not for own goal from Luke shaw who tried to dodge a header from Suarez.
United boss, said his side were defeated because they started the game slowly and were just lucky to get away with a lone goal;
”We didn’t start great. They scored a great goal, there was great movement by Messi and Suarez and they’re fortunate that it comes off Luke and changes direction,Ole told BT Sport
”It’s a blow but we settled well. We’re still in this tie.
”(Messi) a fantastic player. We did as well as we could against him. We kept our shape well.
”It could have gone both ways. We didn’t hit the target and that’s one of the disappointing things.
”We’ll go there with work to be done but we will create chances,he added.
