Huddersfield manager,Jan Siewart has expressed his disappointment after his side fell in 4-0 away defeat to in-form Tottenham Hotspur.
Lucas Moura single-handedly scored three goals for Mauricio Pochettino’s side who are fighting hard to book a spot in the top four ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign as well as seeking the Europe top flight competition this season.
Speaking with Match of the Day after the game,Jan Siewart said it was too much for his side to have conceded such a number of goals and sees it a way of punishment by the host.
‘Four goals are too much today, that doesn’t reflect how we played. They have a crucial possibility to punish you but the result doesn’t represent the way we played today.
‘I can’t hear it anymore – we know we are relegated so let’s keep fighting until the end, we changed things a few times and it made me really proud but I told the boys I want them to get a profit out of these chances.
‘We had to score today, there were good possibilities and I try to keep them motivated to keep trying to make chances and score for the rest of the season.
‘The lads are better than the points are showing at the moment – that’s my message.
‘It’s still about this season, to represent us the best we can until the end of the season, he added.
Huddersfield will now end their season with a dispiriting conclusion having lost 19 of their last 21 Premier League matches.
