Bernardo hands over Man of the Match award to Phil Foden.

Bernardo Silva handed over his Man of the Match award and giving it to Phil Foden despite his impressive performances on the pitch during City’s 1-0 win over Tottenham.

Bernardo showed class at the Etihad and helped create a chance for the only goal of the match as City returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win.

The Portuguese picked up the ball on the right, cut inside and played an inch-perfect cross to the back post, with Sergio Aguero heading back across goal for Foden to nod in his first ever the Premier League goal.

The 18-year-old Foden was just eclipsed by Bernardo in the Man of the Match stakes, but when the time came to hand over the award the Portuguese winger was having none of it.

While speaking on Sky sport after the match, Foden said Bernardo is a player he is looking forward to play like;

”Every player in the team I just try to look up to and learn off, especially this guy today, he didn’t stop running, and when you’ve got players like that in your team it’s impossible to beat us. Well done bro!’
