Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen has given spurs edge over Brighton after scoring a late winner that ended Brighton resilience and helped boost Mauricio Pochettinho’s side to aim more towards the top-four finish.

Brighton held spurs in battle to avoid relegation until the Denmark play-maker shot low into the corner from 25 yards in the 88th minute to ensure his side bagged all three points.

Chris Hughton’s side been without a goal in seven matches, and spurs attacked and set pieces, with the impressive central defensive pairing of Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy.

Tottenham are now better at third with three points above Chelsea and four clear of Arsenal in fifth, although the Gunners have a game in hand.
