Rivaldo warns Barca about his compatriot Firmino ahead of CL clash.
Former Barcelona star and President of Mogi Mirim Esporte Clube in Brazil Rivaldo said the Catalans will have to be wary of Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino as they welcome the Premier League side to the Camp Nou in their Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday evening.
According to Rivaldo, his old club of the threat posed by his compatriot.
“He’s a player who I love and has had few opportunities with the [Brazilian] national team,” he said.
“Barcelona have to be careful and not be distracted because Firmino doesn’t sleep for a minute.
“He has quality and a presence in the area; he’s always there and hungry for a goal.”
Though highlighting the threat of the Brazilian, Rivaldo knows that Liverpool have other players capable of causing problems.
“You can’t say who will threaten
“You have to keep an eye on everyone.”
The atmosphere at Anfield is often spoken about glowingly, but Rivaldo doesn’t think Barcelona’s players will be thrown off by it in the second leg.
“The players are used to it, he explained.
“It’ll be a great show.”
