Chelsea’s transfer ban appeal has been rejected by FIFA.
FIFA has confirmed Chelsea’s transfer ban appeal will stand for two windows but reports shows the Blues will go to CAS in final bid to overturn sanctions.
It was announced on Wednesday that, following an appeal, they have decided to go through with the ban although Chelsea can now go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for one final attempt to overturn the decision.
The blues expected their ban to be suspended over the summer while they appealed against the sentence, as it was for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid who were once in similar situation but were stunned by FIFA insisting the ban would apply immediately.
That may have a negative impact on Eden Hazard’s Madrid move should Chelsea fail to win the case to sign his replacement.
