Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has reacted to his side’s Champions League exit after they became the latest victim of unfortunate second leg defeat 24 hours after Barcelona.
Ajax were 2-0 up at half-time and 3-0 on aggregate before Lucas Moura’s 35-minute hat-trick sent Spurs into their first Champions League final and reduced manager Mauricio Pochettino to tears.
Erik ten Hag side however, saw with their own eyes how Pochettino’s side got back to game win determination to snatch their victory but were just confident it will end soon.
Speaking after the match,Erik ten Hag said no one is to be blame after growing such experience;
“We were so close, we had so deserved it, but that last second.
“I told the players in the break that it wasn’t over yet, you could tell by the attitude of the Tottenham players. They still believed in it.
“When that ball hits the post from Hakim Ziyech, it’s over and out for Spurs.
”But I can’t blame anyone. We have had an incredible Champions League season and have grown a lot as a team. It is difficult to process.
