Rejected by Real Madrid Lucas now stars as he leads Spurs to UCL final.
Lucas Moura on Wednesday night stole the show as he gave Tottenham Hotspur an incredible come back from three goals behind with a second-half hat-trick to reach final.
Mauricio Pochettinho’s side had high mountain set before them by young Ajax stars at half-time, but that spurred the Brazilian to fight for a come back and overcome adversity.
In 2012, having impressed with Sao Paulo, Moura was Europe’s elite club,Real Madrid target at 19 years old but was later turned down even after coach Jose Mourinho had gone to see him play in Hamburg for Brazil against Denmark.
And PSG gambled on him, paying 40 million euros for his services as he joined in January 2013.
The forward signed until 2017, before renewing until 2019 in 2015. But that contract wasn’t seen out because Neymar’s arrival forced changes at the Parc des Princes, and Lucas was one of those sacrificed.
With 16 titles in Paris before setting off for England as he joined Tottenham who spent 27 million euros on a deal until 2023.
On Wednesday night he showed the fight he’s known for, which never allows him to give up, even when faced with adversity.
In London, his life has not been perfect but Moura is finding more opportunities this season and is taking advantage of them. Against Manchester United he took some revenge against Mourinho by scoring twice as Tottenham inflicted United’s biggest home defeat in four years upon them.
And has just written history in Harry Kane’s absence stagging the second biggest come back in Champions League this season after Liverpool.
