Mikel Obi set for Premier League return after six months at Championship

Nigerian Super Eagles captain and Former Chelsea star, John Mikel Obi is reportedly set for a return to the Premier League after six months spell at Championship with Middlesbrough.

ESPN reports that the midfielder is considering responding to multiple offers from clubs in the English top-flight league including newly-promoted sides, Norwich and Sheffield United.

Obi may reach a decision before leading his Nigerian team to Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON next month.

The 32-year-old joined Chinese club, Tianjin TEDA in 2017 on a free transfer ten years with the blues.

”There are some options right now for Mikel Obi, and a few more we expect to see over the coming days,

”Once all the options are on the table, he will make a decision.

”He will most likely make the decision before the Africa Cup of Nations finals, although that will depend on what is on the table,a source told ESPN.
