In an attempt to bolster his back-line this summer Unai Emery has lined-up a £10.5m transfer fee to bid out Sampdoria in the race to sign Argentine international,Walter Kannemann.
Calciomercato reports that the Gunners are looking up to the 28-year-old, to solve their defensive problems as they lodge an early bid before the Serie A outfit, Sampdoria.
The 28 year-old Argentine International is seen as one of the best defenders in South America and that £10.5m figure could rise if the ex-San Lorenzo and Atlas ace hits certain performance targets.
Kannemann has impressed for Brazilian club Gremio since his arrival three years ago and played a key role in the Copa Libertadores success in 2017 after his first with boyhood team San Lorenzo back in 2014.
Emery is looking to bolster his Arsenal squad over the summer but only has a limited transfer budget to play with.
The Gunners board have issued him with a £40m kitty, which could slightly increase if he secures a return to the Champions League by leading his men to Europa glory against Chelsea on May 29.
