Arsenal will rally out Norwich City in the race to sign for Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice this summer.
The Gunners have already been watching the young forward for long now and are said to make a move any moment to have him in the Premier League side.
20-year-old Claude-Maurice has impressed in his homeland as a France Under-20 international and has caught eyes from top clubs including Arsenal.
Norwich scouts have also monitored his progress and, after securing promotion to the Premier League, were ready to sanction a £9m move.
Norwich’s Sporting director, Stuart Webber and coach Daniel Farke sees him as a player who could make an impact on the Canaries’ top flight return but Arsenal may take it all from them.
However, as the competition compete for him Ligue 1, with Lille are also eyeing him as a replacement for Nicolas Pepe.
Arsenal’s budget is perfect to make him a backup to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
