Manchester City have reportedly joined race to sign Belgian midfielder,Youri Tielemans who spent the second half of the season with Leicester City on loan from AS Monaco.
Tielemans’ performances have caught the eye of Premier League champions Manchester City with the club primed to make their move.
And according to the Sun, City are keen to usurp rivals to secure the £40million-rated Tielemans’ signature this summer.
Tielemans, joined Leicester on loan from AS Monaco, and has since then scored three goals and added four assists in his 13 games for the Foxes.
His career had looked to have stalled following a £23m switch from Anderlecht to Monaco but a stint in the Premier League has galvanised the Belgian.
Leicester are interested in turning the loan move into a permanent but appear to face strong competition from those inside the top six.
City, despite claiming an unprecedented domestic treble, want to bolster their ranks to ensure they avoid complacency next term as David Silva’s minutes will continue to decrease while Ilkay Gundogan’s future remains unclear with a year left on his contract.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in Tielemans as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes a replacement for the departing Ander Herrera.
Youri Tielemans still has three years remaining on his deal with Monaco and his upturn in form is good news for the Principality club.
The Ligue 1 side will consider a potential profit making bid on their original investment.
