Ex- spurs hero Glenn Hoddle has said the referee awarded Liverpool a ‘controversial penalty’,adding that Sissoko was pointing when he was running back, looking at something up the pitch like a coach.
Sadio Mane had the ball in his leg right inside the box looking up for a link when ran in to stop and Mane tactically tipped it to Sissoko’s hand which Mo Salah converted in just one and half minute of the game.
But Hoddle speaking to BT sport after the game said it wasnt worth a penalty.
“No way was it a penalty. Sissoko was pointing when he was running back, looking at something up the pitch, it’s like he was coaching sand saying ‘take the runner’.
“If he was trying to stop the cross, he would have out both hands up.
”It hit him in the chest and rolled along his arm. If that is a penalty, we will have 100 of them per game.”
