Ronaldo's rape case dismissed

Ronaldo’s rape case in Las Vegas withdrawn by accuser.

A notice of voluntary dismissal on the rape lawsuit filed against Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo last year in Las Vegas has been quietly dropped.

The notice was filed last month in Nevada state court though the accuser didn’t say whether  they had reached a settlement with the Portuguese player.

According to New York Times reports in March,Juventus, the Italian league champions, wouldn’t participate in the International Champions Cup in the US this summer to avoid the risk that Ronaldo would be detained by authorities as part of a rape investigation.

Meanwhile the former Real Madrid star had publicly denied the allegations and never filed a response to the lawsuit.

Attempts by media practitioners to know why it was dismissed proved abortive as Leslie Stovall, the lawyer representing the woman who filed Ronaldo’s rape, refused to respond a request for comment on the dismissal.
