Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have said they are working completing a deal for Nico Ibanez from Atletico San Luis to join Diego Simeone’s side on July 1.
Ibanez has been a major key for the Mexican side helping them gain promotion from the Ascenso MX to Liga MX, the top division in Mexico with 22 goals in 50 games for Atletico San Luis.
News on the 24 -year-old impending move to Atletico Madrid came via the Mexican side’s president, Alberto Marrero, before being confirmed by Los Rojiblancos themselves.
“Atletico Madrid and Atletico San Luis have reached an agreement for the transfer of Nico Ibanez ,” Atletico Madrid’s statement read.
“The Argentine striker will be registered once the summer transfer window opens on July 1.”
