EPL: Mourinho to replace Benitez at Newcastle when he leaves


Jose MourinhoFormer Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho is reportedly going to take over Newcastle from Rafa Benitez when he leaves the club on June 30.

The Magpies in a statement posted on the club’s official website,announced their manager will be leaving when his current expires.

”It is with disappointment that we announce manager Rafael Benitez will leave Newcastle United upon the expiry of his contract on 30th June 2019.

”We have worked hard to extend Rafa’s contract over a significant period of time, however, it has not been – and will not be – possible to reach an agreement with Rafa and his representatives.

”Rafa’s coaching staff, Paco de Miguel Moreno, Antonio Gomez Perez and Mikel Antia, will also leave the club on 30th June.”

And reports has it that Mourinho is likely going to be the new club manager following an earlier comment he made about the club.

Mourinho was quoted by Daily Star as saying: “I like to go there. I like the feeling of going to Mr Robson’s home. I like that feeling.

”I like the stadium. I like the atmosphere. They are a good, enthusiastic crowd. I like the Geordies.

On this premise, it’s expected he is the right fit to succeed Rafa at the Premier League club next season.
