Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly agreed to pay Lyon a transfer sum of £65 million to sign midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on a a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old Frenchman will be allowed to leave after the club recently signed Jean Lucas from Flamengo to replace him.
Lyon’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas, had said he wants to leave;
”Ndombele is wanted by the biggest clubs. He is seeking a departure. Nothing is done but the door may be open.
The Premier League club made no signing in the previous two transfer windows and their current record fee is £42 million for Davinson Sanchez.
Lyon reportedly wanted £70m for Ndombele, and with Tottenham looking to pay £60m, the two clubs have found a compromise.
The France international is highly-rated in his home country, earning comparisons to former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien and N’Golo Kante.
