Former Atletico captain Diego Godin joins Inter for free


Diego Godin Inter Milan have announced agreeing a deal with with former Atletico captain, Diego Godin on a three year contract until 30 June 2022.

Godin, 33 played as Atlético Madrid former captains and the Uruguay national team’s captain.

He joined La Liga side Villarreal CF in August 2007,on a five-year deal.

And on 4 August 2010, after experiencing his best season at Villarreal 36 games,with three goals moved to Atlético Madrid on a five-year contract, after the two clubs agreed an initial fee believed to be around €8 million or £6.6 million.

In Madrid, Godin became a key player for the Colchoneros’defence and an icon for all the supporters.

His goal on the he final day against Barcelona won the Atletico club the (2013-14) La Liga title. He also won one Copa del Rey, one Spanish Supercup, three European Supercups and two Europa League titles.

Diego Godin has made 131 international appearances and scoring eight goals for Uruguay. In 2011, he won the Copa America with his country.
