Atlético Madrid has reached an agreement with former Porto captain,Hector Herrera to join the Laliga club on a three-year.
The Mexican midfielder has great experience in European football beginning his career at Pachuca’s youth teams.
At 21,Herrera made his debut with the Mexican side’s first team in 2010, where he began to shine. At 22, he won the Toulon Tournament with the Mexico U23 team and was named Best Player.
He thereafter won gold medal with his country at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. And joined FC Porto a year later where he became one of the Portuguese side’s leaders winning one league title and two Super Cups.
Hector Herrera played 70 games for Mexico, scoring five goals including two World Cups (Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018) and won the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2015 CONCACAF Cup.
